ALC Archery Begins Season Strong

On Saturday, September 20th, 2025, members of the ALC Archery team competed in Boneyard Archery's Out of the Heat indoor archery tournament in Madison, North Carolina. The tournament was completed in one day of shooting, and it consisted of two rounds of ten ends each (an archer shoots three arrows per end).

The six ALC archers to compete each brought home a medal for their respective discipline and age class. Shooting in the Compound Senior division, Peyton Dudleson earned a silver medal. Shooting in the Compound U21 division, Mitchell Ohnewehr shot his way to a gold medal. In the Barebow Senior division, Allison Boggs earned a gold medal. Competing in the Barebow U21 division, Zachary Caudill earned a silver medal. Competing in the Fixed Pins U21 division, Isaac Nolan earned gold and Jerry Wells earned silver.

In addition to medaling, the following four archers set a personal record for their age class and division: Zachary Caudill, Isaac Nolan, Mitchell Ohnewehr, and Jerry Wells.

ALC archers set three new school records during the contest as well:

  • Overall Men's Compound: Mitchell Ohnewehr
  • Men's Compound U21: Mitchell Ohnewehr
  • Men's Barebow U21: Zachary Caudill

ALC Archery coach Ty Reagan is very proud of his team. "I can't say enough great things about this group. We are young, with no seniors this year, but everyone is showing up and improving week to week. To start the season off with three new records and four personal bests is incredible. We have a great foundation to build off of and the right mentality to go and do it. Our returning archers are already scoring better than they concluded last season and our newcomers are eager to learn and will close the distance quick. I'm excited to see how much this team accomplishes this season.

ALC Archery returns to North Carolina on October 25th to continue their indoor archery success.
