Bio
Ty Reagan enters his 3rd season (2025‑26) as head coach of the Alice Lloyd College archery program—the squad he founded in 2023. A native of Jamestown, Tennessee, and a certified USA Archery Instructor, he’s had a bow in his hands for as long as he can remember.
In the program’s young history, the club has built a strong foundation and consistently improved from season to season, with individual archers medaling in every tournament they competed in during the 2024‑2025 indoor archery season. Two ALC archers even earned bronze medals in the 2025 indoor championships in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Coach Reagan expects success and demands effort from his archers. His goal is for ALC archers to become the best student‑athletes they can be. He believes in creating a strong foundation of fundamentals by learning correct form and following the steps of shooting, and then building on these principles during the season through repetition and feedback. He places academics as top priority and ensures his archers stay on top of their classwork and student‑work assignments. On average, his archers improve their tournament scores by a margin of over 250 points in their first season (out of a possible 1200), and the program boasted a combined team GPA of 3.5 for the 2024‑2025 academic year.
Coach Reagan is excited for the upcoming 2025‑26 season. The season will be the first time in program history that sees ALC archers compete in each possible discipline (Compound Target, Compound Fixed Pins, Recurve Barebow, Olympic Recurve, and Traditional). No school record is safe this year, and Coach Reagan can’t wait to watch his team push each other and learn from each other.
An ALC alumnus, Reagan earned a B.A. in English in 2023 and also serves the College as Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications. His wife, Emily Reagan, is an Instructor of Communication Studies. The family resides in Pippa Passes with their young son, Theodore, and their three cats.
