Game 1

Alice Lloyd-4; KCU-12

In the contest, ALC jumped out early, but the Knights controlled the last four innings to take the victory.

The visitors started well as TJay Mullins (LF) pounded a triple to center to plate one (1-0)

He was followed by Noah Dingess (1B) lining a single to left. That made the score 2-0.

KCU would score their first run of the game, in the third (2-1). They would then repeat the same process one inning later, but it would lead to three more scores (4-2).

In the fifth, Alice Lloyd would cut into the lead, when a long fly out trimmed the deficit to 4-3.

However, a big double in the bottom of that inning would lead the Grayson club towards a trio of scores. They now led, 7-3.

The Eagles got a glimmer of hope in the sixth when a Mullinsblast over the center field wall chipped the KCU lead to four (7-4). Unfortunately, the Knights would put the game on ice in their half of the inning.

In the Kentucky Christian sixth, they would utilize two singles, a walk, and a fielder's choice, to grab five mammoth runs. They would then hold their 12-4 cushion all the way to the finish line.

The Caney Creek boys registered 7 hits on the day. Mullinscarded a perfect 3-3 with a homer, a triple, and 2 RBI'S. Cannon Ferrell (CF) added 2 hits and a triple of his own.

On the mound, Trenton Williams suffered the loss. In 4 innings, he allowed 7 hits and 5 earned runs, with 2 strikeouts. In relief, Matthew HebarNick Van Keuren, and Brady Carrico combined to give up 7 more runs.

Game 2

Alice Lloyd-4; KCU-5

In the contest, the two clubs battled intently, but the Grayson club held on in the pitchers battle to take the sweep.

The hosts struck in the second, when they registered a double to grab the 1-0 lead.

In the third inning, ALC came through with a nice three-spot. Two of the runs came courtesy of a Ferrell triple (2-1). He then raced home on a wild pitch to give the Pippa Passes posse the 3-1 advantage. Unfortunately, the lead wouldn't last.

In the very next Knight at-bat, a costly Eagle error with the bases-loaded, allowed three Knight runs to cross the plate. Quickly, they had regained a 4-3 lead. They added some insurance in the fourth when they squeezed out a single, to grab an important score (5-3).

Alice Lloyd looked to bounce back in the fifth thanks to Mullinsimpressive play. For the second consecutive game, he bashed a home run to chip away at the disadvantage (5-4). Unfortunately, he was left stranded on base. The home squad then managed to close the game out to seal the victory.

The visitors registered 6 hits for the game once more with Ferrell and Dawson Beckett (3B) both achieving 2 apiece while Ferrell led with 2 RBI's. Mullins had the big blast once again.

On the mound, Jason Frye dropped the tough decision. In 3.2 innings, he allowed 4 hits and 5 runs, but just 2 were earned. He added 2 strikeouts. He was relieved by Will Gladson and Cole Bishop. In 2.1 innings of impressive work, they combined to allow just 1 hit between them.

The Eagles actually won the hitting war, 6-5. However, they committed the only error of the game, and it proved to be costly.
