ALC Eagles fall at Campbellsville University

Campbellsville, KY: The Alice Lloyd Eagles journeyed to southwestern Kentucky on Friday to battle the highly-regarded Campbellsville Tigers in a challenging match. The Eagles fell behind early and dropped an 86-70 decision.

In the first half CU came out ready to play. Sparked by Eli Brooks, the Tigers offense was clicking early. The hosts would shoot a blistering 58.6% in the opening twenty minutes compared to ALC's frigid 24.3%. This enabled the city team to lead 48-25 at intermission.

In the second half, the Caney Creek crew fought back, sparked by the nice effort of freshman forward Andrew Bloomfield. Although the Caney crew would refuse to fold, and sink a solid 56.7% from he field during the final twenty minutes, they were unable to overcome the deep deficit.

For Alice Lloyd (5-12), Evin Eversole led the way with 16 points and 5 rebounds. He also added 4 steals. Bloomfield drilled 5-7 field goals including 3-3 from deep, to finish with 13 points. He added 4 boards and 1 block. In addition, junior guard Desmier Hatchett and freshman forward Will Alexander both chipped in 9 points, while freshman Micah Shelton delivered 3 assists. The squad totaled 24 rebounds, 13 assists and 10 steals.

Campbellsville (13-2) was led by Brooks with 20 points. His squad shot 53.1% (34-64) from the field, 26.9% (7-26) from long-range, and 64.7% (11-17) from the foul line. They added 41 rebounds, 29 assists, and 3 steals.
