Alice Lloyd Eagles Women and Men’s Golf participates in Kentucky Christian Spring Invitational
Grayson, KY: On April 8th-9th, the Alice Lloyd College golf teams traveled to Hidden Cove Golf Course at Grayson Lake State Park to participate in the Kentucky Christian University Spring Invite.
Three women's and four men's squads took to the links with 16 ladies and 21 men signed up for the more-intimate event. After the last shot had been recorded, ALC would finish in third place while the men would earn a third-place finish as well.
In the women's competition, Roane State would earn the gold, while ALC had three finishers in the event. For the Eagles, Haleigh Jefferson would slide into 9th place, Hailey Dye would finish in 13th position, and Mackenzie Methax would end up in 15th. All three ladies battled hard and gave a good effort during the two-day event.
In the men's event, Rio Grande University would bring home the gold while ALC finished in 3rd place. Individually, the Eagles were led by Mason Compton, who finished in 6th place. His best round would be a 76, and he completed the 36 holes with a +13.
He was followed by Caleb Leonard, who tied for 7th with a total of +14, and Jason Price, who was close behind at +25. Dillon Fields and Chase Petry also battled well, as both Eagles would end the event with a +32 score, respectively.
The ALC golf teams report back to action this weekend when they host the ALC Last Shot Tournament in Prestonsburg, KY.
