Alice Lloyd soccer battles homestanding Cincinnati Clermont to 1-1 tie

Batavia, OH:  On October 25th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles (10-1-3) traveled to Buckeye country to face Cincinnati Clermont (8-4-1) in soccer action. The Bluegrass boys were locked in a defensive battle for 90 minutes, and the contest ended up in a 1-1 tie.

The match remained scoreless until the 25:00 mark when Eagle Jensen Harbaugh went solo for the Bluegrass boys, ripping a shot into the net for a 1-0 advantage.

For the remainder of the half, defense would be the name of the game as neither squad could connect. By the time intermission arrived, the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Eagles.

In the second half, neither offense could break through, and the pressure rose as the minutes ticked off. Finally, at minute 82:00, the home club turned a corner kick into a huge goal. This blast tied the contest up at 1-1.

Over the final few minutes, the clubs battled furiously, but neither team was able to get a clean look at a score. The final horn sounded with the match deadlocked at 1-1.

On the day, the Pass fired just 9 shots, with 6 being shots-on-goal. while UCC fired 8 shots with 5 on-goal They also attempted  only 1 corner kick. Harbaugh had the lone score on the day.with his first-half goal.

Defensively, goalie Kalin Schneider recorded 6 saves and gave up 1 score while his Clermont counterpart registered 5 saves with 1 goal allowed.
