Alice Lloyd College Names Brandon Arnold as Women's Basketball Coach
Alice Lloyd College has announced the hiring of Brandon Arnold as the new Head Women's Basketball Coach. The announcement was made April 8th at the Perry Campus Center on "Coach J" Court, home of the Lady Eagles.
Arnold, a 2013 alumnus of Alice Lloyd College, returns to Caney Creek with deep ties to the program. A four-year letterman in baseball during his time as a student, he later joined the Lady Eagles coaching staff and was promoted to Associate Head Coach under John Mills.
During his five seasons in that role, the Lady Eagles reached the NAIA Division II National Tournament in 2018 and 2019, marking the only appearances in program history. The team also advanced to the NCCAA Division I National Tournament in 2020 and 2021, capturing the national championship in 2021.
In addition to his work with women's basketball, Arnold served as head cross-country coach, building the program into a consistent NCCAA contender with multiple top-five finishes and national runner-up performances.
After spending the past four years in the private sector, Arnold expressed enthusiasm about returning to Alice Lloyd College.
"I relish the opportunity to lead a program with such a strong tradition of success," Arnold said. "Coach Mills built something special here, and I am grateful for the chance to continue that legacy while giving back to a college that has meant so much to me and my family."
Arnold emphasized a commitment to both competitive excellence and personal development.
"I expect our team to work hard and compete for championships," he said. "Most importantly, I want to be a positive influence while helping develop high-character young women."
A native of Blountville, Tennessee, Arnold is a 2008 graduate of Virginia High School and earned his degree from Alice Lloyd College in 2013. He is married to Char-Leigh Craft, a 2012 Alice Lloyd alumna and physician serving the Hazard, Kentucky community. The couple has three children: Vivian, Russell, and Jett.
