Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles soccer travels to NCAA DIII Berea College

Berea, KY:  On Wednesday, September 24th the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles soccer team (0-5) journeyed to central Kentucky to tackle a NCAA DIII foe,  the Berea College Mountaineers (6-3). The east Kentucky ladies hung tough for the first 45 minutes before eventually falling 7-0.

The contest remained scoreless until the 15:29 mark, when the Mountaineers finally struck paydirt (1-0). Then, on the ensuing play, they would gain possession and strike once more at 15:44 to lead 2-0.

However, for the remainder of the period, the Lady Eagles defense was resilient. The half would arrive with no further change on the scoreboard.

In the second half, Berea delivered their third goal at 46:06, then added another tally at 47:30 to push the score to 4-0. Once more, the ALC defense clamped down and held the hosts down. Unfortunately, in the final 8:44 of the game, Berea would add a trio of scores to set the final at 7-0.

For the match, the hosts fired 31 shots-on-goal compared to the Lady Eagles 0, and led in corner kicks 8-0. 

Pippa Passes goalie Abby Maynard  did register 24 saves on the night. 

The Lady Eagles return to action on Tuesday, September 30th, when they travel to Midway University. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
