Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles Soccer falters in second half against Ohio Christian University

Pippa Passes, KY:  On Thursday, October 2nd, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles (0-6) returned home to face the Ohio Christian Trailblazers (3-5-1). The Bluegrass ladies put up a good fight for nearly seventy minutes before tiring in the final stretch and falling, 6-1.

The Buckeye club struck first at 11:20. However, the hometown squad would buckle down on defense and allow no more goals. The squads would head into intermission with the scoreboard reading 1-0, Ohio.

In the second half, the home crowd received something to cheer about. At 55:00, Lady Eagle October Bartley intercepted a pass and drove a kick into the net. Suddenly the score was tied, 1-1.

At that point, OCU answered with a goal at 59:02 to pull ahead, 2-1. The score then remained unchanged until minute 79:00 when Ohio Christian managed their third succesful boot (3-1).

Unfortunately, over the next seven minutes, the Trailblazers iced the game with a trio of scores at 81:00, 82:25, and 86:25. This flurry put the game out of reach as the final read 6-1.

For the match, the victors fired 23 shots-on-goal compared to the Lady Eagles 1 shot-on-goal. They also led in corner kicks 7-0.

Pippa Passes goalie Abby Maynard did record 17 saves. Bartley had the Caney Creek squads lone goal.
