Alice Lloyd Volleyball Hosts Asbury University
In set 1, Asbury came out on fire as they scored the first 7 points. They continued that momentum and cruised to a solid 25-13 win.
In set 2, the Pippa Passes ladies came out focused and battled at a high level. However, with the score knotted at 12-12, the central Kentucky squad rolled out a massive 11-2 burst to pull ahead 23-14.
Fortunately, with their backs against the wall, the Pippa Passes ladies fought back, unleashing 3 kills and 3 aces on the way to a 7-0 run of their own. Suddenly, the deficit was sliced to just two (23-21). Unfortunately, for the home fans, AU would manage to hold on for the 25-22 win.
In set 3, the squads battled evenly once more as the scoreboard read 11-11 near the midpoint. Disappointingly, once again, the guest Eagles went on a big run (10-1) and used that to end the match with a 25-16 victory.
On the day, Caroline Parsons and Kristin Isaac led ALC with 7 assists each, while Adreonna Schutz and Brooklyn Cheek paved the way in kills (4). Jenni Droke led in digs with 8 while Kyleah Ward led in blocks with 4. Kristin Isaac led with 4 aces.
Alice Lloyd (3-1) quickly returns to action on Wednesday, September 14th, when they visit the University of Pikeville at 7:00 pm.
