Alice Lloyd Volleyball Travels to Rio Grande University

Rio Grande, OH: On Friday, November 3rd, the Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team took to the road to face the Rio Grande Red Storm (18-10; 11-7 RSC). At the conclusion of the match, the home club would end up on the winning side of the equation.

 In set 1, the Lady Eagles jumped out to a quick 6-3 lead before Rio went on an 8-1 run to take the advantage, 11-7. From there, the Red Storm would roll off a 14-4 burst, which enabled them to earn the 25-13 victory.

In set 2, the hosts jumped out swiftly to lead, 10-3. The Pippa Passes squad would get as close as 19-13 before RGU closed the game with a 6-2 run to seize the day, 25-15.

In set 3, the Ohio club kept the pressure on as they slowly grabbed the reins and pulled out to a double-digit lead (16-8). Later on in the contest, with the scoreboard showing 21-14, the home team would end the match by combining a pair of kills with a pair of aces to slam the door, 25-14.

 For the event, Kristen Isaac and Taylor Hamilton led ALC (3-27; 0-18 RSC) with 9 and 5 assists, respectively, while Brooklyn Cheek delivered her club 5 kills. She was aided by Kyleah Ward, Tianna Wesley, and TK Ellis with 3 apiece. Caroline Parsons was the leader in digs, recording 9, and Gracie Gibson chipped in with 5. In addition, Issac and Ward each served an ace for the club.

As far as team stats, Rio led in kills (53-17), assists (53-16), digs (53-31) and aces (4-2).

The Lady Eagles close out the regular season on Saturday, November 4th, when they travel to Pittsburgh (PA) to face the Point Park Lady Pioneers at 12:00 p.m.
