Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball impresses with sweep over Warren Wilson

Asheville, NC:  The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team motored to the Tar Heel state on Friday, October 24th to face NCAA DIII foe Warren Wilson College. The Caney Creek ladies would come ready to play as they took a commanding sweep over the Owls. With the victory, the Bluegrass bombers raise their record to 18-7, while WWC dropped to 3-18.

The Eagles would take a three-set win in impressive fashion.

In game 1, the visitors swiftly doubled up the score, 12-6. From there, the hosts would get within four (13-9), only to watch ALC roll off a quick 7-2 burst to pull ahead, 20-11. That would be enough for the blue and white as they pulled out the 25-17 win.

Game 2 saw the two squads trade points for the first half of the match, and the scoreboard read 12-12 at the midpoint. However, after that, the Pippa Passes would assert themselves. After inching ahead 17-15, they would suddenly unleash a decisive 8-2 burst to take the set, 25-17.

Game 3, saw the Bluegrass bunch determined to end things and they quickly took a 11-6 lead. They would then ride that momentum and slowly extend their advantage, eventually sealing the deal with a 25-16 victory.

For the match, Christa Amburgey led the club with 8 kills, followed by Callie Butler with 7. Peyton Taylor provided 8 digs and also dished out a game-high 25 assists. Jadyn Hall led everyone with 3 service aces.

For the match, the victors team led in kills (37-21), digs (42-41), assists (34-21), and aces ( 7-4).
