ALC Soccer returns to winning ways, take down Appalachian Bible, 11-0

Pippa Passes, KY: On October 18th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles returned home to battle the Appalachian Bible College Warriors (2-2) in soccer action. The Bluegrass boys would lead after 45:00, then blow the contest open in the second half to win, 11-0.

The Pippa Passes posse would strike early when Jensen Harbaugh took a feed from Dylan Moore at 3:00 to dent the scoreboard, 1-0. Later, at 11:45, the roles would reverse as Moore would take Harbaugh's pass and split the net to make the score 2-0.

Next, at 17:00, Miguel Flores would get in on the act as he rode a Harbaugh assist past the goalies arms to give the Bluegrass boys a 3-0 advantage. That score would then stand until the halftime buzzer sounded.

 

In the second stanza,  ALC would start things right just one minute in. Moore kicked a delivery from Maddux into the home net at 46:00 to change the score to 4-0. Then at 62:00 and 63:12 Luis Sarabia scored a pair of goals, with both assists coming courtesy of Moore. This now made the score 6-0.

In the 65th minute, Camden scored again, with the assist awarded to Justin Barker (7-0). This was followed at 78:00 by a Harbaugh goal, aided by Barker, to make things 8-0.

Just 1:21 later, the Harbaugh to Moore combination paid dividends again with Moore delivering the goods (9-0).

Later, down the stretch, Harbaugh provided a goal at 82:00 off a Barker/ Isaiah Maggard assist (10-0), and the final point was a solo blast at 86:00, provided by Sarabia. This would conclude the match at 11-0.

 

For the victors, Harbaugh led the way with 3 goals and 3 assists while Sarabia added 3 goals of his own. Moore delivered big with 2 goals and 3 assists, while his buddy Camden matched his 2 goals, and chipped in 1 assist. Flores delivered the final goal while Barker (2) and Maggard also contributed assists.

The victors were also solid on the defensive side , allowing no good looks to the Warrior squad.  Kalin Schneider and Nate Cook split the goal keeping duties, with each pitching a shutout in 45:00 of play.

The Eagles also led in shots (39-2), shots-on-goal (29-0), assists (11-0), and corner kicks (7-0).

ALC's record now improves to 9-1-2 while ABC falls to 2-8-1.
