ALC Lady Eagles earn 93-80 victory at Miami Hamilton

 Hamilton, OH; The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles journeyed to the Buckeye State near Cincinnati on Tuesday to face the Miami Hamilton Harriers in basketball action. The Bluegrass crew overcame a slow start to earn a nice 93-80 decision.

In the first quarter, the hosts came out of the gates on fire. Led by center Taj Pewett, they exploded for 25 points. This gave the Harriers a 25-16 advantage after ten minutes of play.

In the second stanza, ALC sophomore guard Elivia Moore led a resurgance as the Caney Creek crew turned the tables to take the segment 26-17. This enabled the Kentucky bunch to knot the contest up, and the scoreboard read 42-42 at halftime.

In the third period, the clubs traded buckets most of the way as Alice Lloyd junior forward Jamie Cowan kept her team within striking distance Despite this, MH still crept out to a 66-65 lead heading into the final quarter. 

In the final segment, the Lady Eagles turned to sophomore guard Bailey Stewart, and she heated up to the tune of 14 huge points. Her play lifted her buddies to a commanding 28-14 advantage, and the Pippa Passes posse pulled away for the 13-point victory.

For the Lady Eagles (10-10), five players reached double figures. Bailey Stewart led all scorers with 25 points. She was followed by Moore with 18 and Cowan, with 14. In addition, freshman forward Alivia Morris added 13 points while senior guard Shelby Stewart chipped in with 10.

Pewett led Hamilton (10-5) with 22 points. Miami- Hamilton has not provided any statistics at press time.
