Pippa Passes, KY: On August 29th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles played host to the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles (GA) in soccer action. The hosts rallied from a 2-point deficit to take the lead, only to see the guests score late, and end the match in a 4-4 tie.
The contest remained scoreless until the 20:00 mark when TF broke the ice with a goal (1-0). Just five minutes later, Toccoa repeated the feat, and now led 2-0.
At 35:00 ALC's Dylan Moore made a nice pass to Maddux Camden, and he laced the ball into the net to put the Caney Creek crew on the scoreboard. The Georgia club would eventually enter intermission nursing a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Jensen Harbaugh would deliver for the Kentucky boys, going solo at 55:00 to knot the score at 2-2, only to see the Screaming Eagles recapture the lead at 3-2 with a goal at 61:00.
However, ALC had something to say about that in a span of just four minutes. At 71:00 Camden would take a nice Jensen pass and convert it for a 3-3 tie. Then, at 75:00, Jensen did the work himself and his clutch shot gave his crew their first lead of the day, 4-3, and brought the crowd to its feet. The Pippa Passes posse now had to hold it.
For 13 minutes, they were able to do that. Unfortunately, at the 88:00 mark, Toccoa Falls delivered a huge shot to even the score at 4-4.
In the waning minutes, the host Eagles got one last chance, but that shot sailed wide as the contest ended in a tie.
On the day, the Pass fired 16 shots, compared to the Falls 11, and tied in corner kicks, 7-7. They also committed 10 fouls apiece. Toccoa (2-0-1) led in saves, 9-7.
Pippa Passes goalie Kalin Schneider went the distance, allowing 4 goals with 6 saves.
Offensively, Harbaugh delivered 2 goals and 1 assist while Camden produced a pair of scores as well. Moore chipped in with an assist.
ALC (1-0-1) returns to action on Thursday, September 4th, when they journey to Ohio Christian University. Game time is set for 4:00pm.
